The Grid Experience - Weston Shore

What is it?

The Grid Experience is an exciting creative participation project which explores movement and shared spaces.

We created it in response to people experiencing a physical and social disconnect because of Covid-19.

Dance and movement are great ways to improve wellbeing and connect with others. The Grid is a unique, accessible way to do this within physical distancing guidelines, right on your doorstep!

Who is it for?

This Grid is coming right to your doorstep for Weston Shore residents only.

We welcome all ages and you don’t need to have any dance experience, you just need to be free on Saturday 24th April and willing to have a bit of a dance in your living room beforehand - easy as that!

The Grid space is accessible and designed within Covid-secure physical distancing guidelines

What about health and safety?

We have extensive Covid-secure measures in place and are optimistic that The Grid will go ahead as planned in April.

If lockdown continues into April or Government guidelines do not allow us to go ahead safely we will be in touch immediately.

We will review new regulations and guidelines regularly and make a final decision by Monday 22nd March on the project going ahead.

We are partnering with the brilliant and experienced teams at Rees Leisure, who run Southampton’s biggest sports events. They know all there is to know about making activity safe and accessible.

How do I get involved?

1. Sign up here to take part FOR FREE.

You will be allocated your own square within the Grid! 1 person per ticket

2. Attend an online session with other participants* (the excitement builds!)

We will run a selection of online sessions from Monday 12th April.

Days and times will be confirmed via email after booking your space. (A mystery member of the ZLDT team will become your personal ‘Grid Movement Guide’)

3. Receive your tutorial video to practise at home

Your Grid Movement Guide will send you a video so you can practise your moves in your own time.

4. Come down and take part on Saturday 24th April

Head down to the Grass Amphitheatre next to the Sports Court for 1:30pm for registration. The whole experience will last approx 2.5 hours.

*In person sessions can be arranged where internet access is not available and if Government guidelines allow.

Who are we?

As a local organisation ZoieLogic Dance Theatre challenges the perceptions of dance, who it’s for, where and how it is shown. We want as many people to experience dance as possible; to see it, be in it and help make it. We make shows and projects for you and create unforgettable experiences with you.

We will be working within the latest Government guidelines at all times - The Grid Experience is a Covid-secure participatory project happening in a controlled environment with a Covid Secure plan. You’ll find full details of our health and safety policy on our website.
